9 March 2009: the Willesden Herald Short Story prize

Pulp Net Short Story Cafe on 9 Mar 2009 was held in association wtih Costa and with the Willesden Herald Short Story prize, sponsored in 2009 by Pulp Net. Reading from their stories were three of the shortlisted authors: Jo Lloyd, Margot Taylor and Jill Widner. The 2009 judge of the International Willesden Herald Short Story competition, Rana Dasgupta, announced the winning story ‘Work’ and presented winner Jo Lloyd with her award. Jo’s story will be published in the associated anthology New Short Stories 3 and will also appear in a future edition of Pulp Net.

Rana Dasgupta also spoke about the short story and gave a brief reading from his novel, Solo.
